How can we help?

Check that the LamsaGuard EA is on a chart in the same MetaTrader, that the Algo Trading button is green, and that the LamsaGuard app is running. If you run several MetaTrader terminals, attach the EA in the one you trade. More in troubleshooting.

The red line under the plan names the rule that blocks the trade. Tap the firewall card for the full list. If you need to pass a personal rule, use OVERRIDE with a time limit; your real account limits stay protected (unless you switched off "Override keeps the real account limits" in INPUTS).

The phone controller is part of Connect: on Basic, SETUP CHECK shows an upgrade note instead of a QR code. On Connect, make sure the phone and PC are on the same Wi-Fi, then scan the QR code again: the PC's address can change after a router restart. If the QR code will not scan, type the small address shown under it into your phone's browser. More in troubleshooting.

Download the latest LamsaGuard setup from your account page and run it - it updates the app and the EA in every MetaTrader 4 and 5 on the PC. Then remove the EA from the chart and attach it again.

The licence line in SETUP CHECK says why. If your free trial has ended, choose a plan on your account page. If your plan is confirmed and you still see this, send us a ticket with your username. See troubleshooting.

LamsaGuard works with any number of trading accounts, and your plan runs a set number of them at the same time. You started it on another account, so this one paused; its firewall keeps protecting it. To switch back, restart the EA on a chart of this account. Each account keeps its own settings, journal and stats, and the account picker in Stats and Journal shows an account you are not trading right now. More in troubleshooting.

The 7-day free trial is once per customer, and each trading account can use a free trial once. Choose a plan on your account page to keep using LamsaGuard on that account.

Alerts come through the MetaTrader app on your phone. Copy your MetaQuotes ID from that app into MetaTrader on the PC: Tools, Options, Notifications.

Upgrading: on your account page press Upgrade to Connect. You see the amount first and pay only the difference for the days left in your billing period. The new plan reaches the EA within about 2 minutes - nothing to reinstall. Payments run through Paddle, our online checkout.

Downgrading to a smaller plan, or from yearly to monthly: send us a ticket from your account page and we switch it for you. A downgrade starts at once and there is no refund or credit for the rest of the period you already paid, so the best time is just before your renewal date.

Only from your account page: log in and press Download. There is no public download link. Downloads open when your plan is active or while your free trial runs. LamsaGuard runs on Windows 10 or 11 or a Windows VPS; there is no Mac version now.

Microsoft Edge shows this for new files. In the Downloads list, hover the file, press the ... menu and choose Keep. If Edge asks again, choose Show more, then Keep anyway. Only do this for the file you downloaded from your LamsaGuard account page.

This is Windows SmartScreen. It shows for new programs that are not yet widely downloaded. Click More info, check that the file is the LamsaGuard setup you downloaded from your account page, then click Run anyway.

Some antivirus programs are wary of new apps that talk to the internet and to MetaTrader, and may put the LamsaGuard app in quarantine. Open your antivirus, restore LamsaGuard from quarantine and add the LamsaGuard program folder as an exception (allowed app). Then start LamsaGuard again, or run the setup again. Only do this for the file downloaded from your LamsaGuard account page.

The setup adds the EA to every MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 it finds on the PC. First, in the Navigator right-click Expert Advisors and choose Refresh, or restart MetaTrader.

Still missing (for example, you installed MetaTrader after LamsaGuard)? Run the LamsaGuard setup again, or copy the EA by hand: in MetaTrader open File > Open Data Folder. MetaTrader 5 uses MQL5 > Experts and the .ex5 file; MetaTrader 4 uses MQL4 > Experts and the .ex4 file. A file in the wrong folder does not show up. Then Refresh the Navigator.

The window uses Microsoft Edge WebView2, which is part of Windows 10 and 11. If it is missing or damaged, install the free "WebView2 Runtime" from Microsoft's website and start LamsaGuard again. Until then LamsaGuard opens the controller in your normal browser instead - it works the same.

LamsaGuard is open already (maybe behind other windows) and it brings that window to the front. If you cannot find it, restart the PC, or end LamsaGuard in Task Manager and start it again.

Not now - LamsaGuard runs on Windows (Windows 10 or 11, or a Windows VPS). A Mac version is not available.

The EA needs your LamsaGuard login, and without it MetaTrader removes it from the chart again. Drag LamsaGuard onto the chart again, open the Inputs tab and enter the username and password of your LamsaGuard account (the ones you use on lamsaguard.com - not your broker login). Press OK.

If you see "Wrong username or password", check the spelling (no spaces before or after). Forgot the password? Use "Forgot your password?" on the log-in page.

MetaTrader does not let the EA reach our server yet. Open Tools > Options > Expert Advisors, tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL, add https://api.lamsaguard.com and press OK (guide 2). Then remove the EA from the chart and attach it again.

Already allowed? Check that the PC has internet and that no firewall, proxy or antivirus blocks api.lamsaguard.com. In the Experts tab this can also show as a WebRequest error or error 4014.

The licence line in SETUP CHECK shows the same message. Open your account page: choose a plan if the trial has ended, or check the payment under Manage billing if a renewal did not go through. When a plan has ended, LamsaGuard stops and MetaTrader removes the EA from the chart: after you renew, attach the EA again. If your plan shows as active and you still see this, send us a ticket with your username.

If a payment fails, LamsaGuard keeps working for a short grace period while the card is tried again, and we email you. After that, or when a cancelled plan reaches the end of its paid period, the LamsaGuard EA and app stop and your account is no longer protected until you renew.

LamsaGuard cannot place or close trades while Algo Trading is off. You may see "Enable AutoTrading in MT5 toolbar!" or "Allow EA trading in Properties > Common.", and SETUP CHECK shows Algo Trading allowed: CHECK.

Press Algo Trading (MetaTrader 4: AutoTrading) in the toolbar so its icon turns green instead of red. Then check the icon in the top-right corner of the chart: in MetaTrader 4 it must be a smiling face, not a sad one; in MetaTrader 5 the hat must be blue, not grey. If not, right-click the chart, open the EA's Properties and tick Allow Algo Trading on the Common tab.

The app cannot see a running EA. Check that MetaTrader is open, that the LamsaGuard EA is on one chart of the account you trade, and that Algo Trading is on. If the EA was removed from the chart, the Experts tab says why (often one of the messages above).

"OFFLINE - PC bridge is not sending data" means the LamsaGuard app on the PC has stopped: start it again. If a banner says "LamsaGuard is running in TWO MetaTrader windows", remove the EA from the MetaTrader window you do not trade.

Nothing is wrong. The EA is on more than one chart of the same account: one chart leads, the others wait on standby and take over if the main chart closes. You only need it on ONE chart per account - it protects every symbol. To control a different chart from the app, click USE THIS CHART on it.

LamsaGuard works with any number of trading accounts, and your plan runs a set number of them at the same time (your account page shows how many). You started it on another account, so this one paused: its controller is off, while its firewall keeps protecting it.

To switch back, restart the EA on a chart of this account. If you see "You switched accounts a moment ago", wait a few minutes and restart the EA again. An old PC or VPS that is off for good? Press Stop here next to that account on your account page. Each account keeps its own settings, journal and stats.

LamsaGuard only closes trades to protect your limits or when a setting you chose says so, and the Experts tab and your phone alerts always say why. In the MetaTrader history, the closing deal has a comment that starts with PG: and names the reason. The usual ones:

"Daily limit hit! All trades closed." or "Max drawdown hit! All trades closed." - a limit was reached (minus your safety buffer) and "Auto-close all trades on limit" is on. Switch it off in INPUTS if you only want new trades blocked.
"trade opened by hand was CLOSED - ..." - you opened a trade in MetaTrader while trading was blocked, or it was too large for any stop loss inside your risk rules (you still pay the spread). The message names the rule.
"trade on ... had NO stop loss - stop set at ..." - a trade opened by hand had no stop, or a stop too far away, so LamsaGuard set the stop at the furthest price your max loss or max risk per trade allows. Nothing was closed.
"STOP LOSS NOT MOVED ..." - the wider stop would risk more than your room or your per-trade rule allows, so the stop stayed where it was.
"that limit cannot be loosened now" - an account limit is blocking, so it cannot be raised or relaxed until the block ends. Tighter values still work.
"Closed open trades before news" - Close trades before news is on in INPUTS.
"Friday close ... - all trades closed for the weekend." - you switched on Friday close in INPUTS (it is off by default; the time is broker server time).
"PROFIT TARGET REACHED" (prop mode), "locked profit was slipping", "basket target / stop reached" - your profit and basket settings.
"HARD LIMIT hit while override was on" - the hard floor protected your real limit during an override.
"MT5 started with the account already past a limit" - the account was over a limit when MetaTrader started.

If a close does not go through (market closed, requote, Algo Trading off), LamsaGuard tries again every few seconds until the trades that were open when the limit was hit are closed, and alerts you if it still cannot. Closes like these act on the whole account, so they include trades from other EAs. See Can I use LamsaGuard with another EA?

These messages come from your broker. Not enough money: the lot size needs more free margin - lower the risk or the lot. Market is closed: the symbol is outside its trading hours. Invalid stops: the stop loss or take profit is too close to the price for this broker - move it further away. Trade is disabled: the symbol or the account does not allow trading (for example, logged in with the investor password).

The red line names the rule. Tap the firewall card to see every rule and what is left of your daily loss and drawdown room. For a personal rule you can use OVERRIDE with a time limit; the real daily loss and max drawdown limits stay on (unless you switched off "Override keeps the real account limits" in INPUTS); only the safety buffer and your personal rules are paused. During an Emotion Guard lock there is no override until the lock ends.

The phone controller is part of the Connect plan. On Basic the phone shows "Your Basic plan runs the controller on the trading PC only" and SETUP CHECK shows an upgrade note instead of a QR code.

On Connect: put the phone on the same Wi-Fi as the PC - not a guest network and not the phone's own hotspot - and turn off any VPN on either device. Then open SETUP CHECK on the PC and scan the QR code with the phone camera. If it will not scan, type the small address under it into the phone's browser. "The controller only opens on devices in the same home or office network" means the phone is on another network.

Still nothing? The Windows firewall may block it. When Windows first asked about LamsaGuard it needed Allow for private networks. If you pressed Cancel: open Windows Security, Firewall and network protection, "Allow an app through firewall", and tick LamsaGuard for Private.

Windows blocks phones on public networks. Open Settings, Network and Internet, your Wi-Fi, and choose Private network. Then scan the QR code again.

The router gave the PC a new address. Open SETUP CHECK on the PC, scan the new QR code and add it to your home screen again.

LamsaGuard keeps Windows awake while it runs, but closing a laptop lid or pressing the power button can still sleep it. In Windows power settings choose "Do nothing" when the lid is closed, keep the PC plugged in, or run MetaTrader and LamsaGuard on a Windows VPS.

The news lock uses the LamsaGuard economic calendar through api.lamsaguard.com. If the EA cannot reach it, the news line in the firewall card shows NEWS FEED UNREACHABLE - not protecting you and the news calendar says "The EA cannot reach the news feed - it is NOT protecting you." While this shows, news protection is not working.

Fix: allow https://api.lamsaguard.com in Tools > Options > Expert Advisors (guide 2) and check that no firewall, proxy or antivirus blocks it. "Cannot load the news calendar right now - trying again shortly" in the app is usually a short internet drop and clears by itself.

Update to the latest EA: it sends your deposits and withdrawals, so the balance chart adds up like MetaTrader (start + trading + deposits - withdrawals = balance now). Then open Stats and choose Year once, so the EA sends the full history.

Journal, EXCEL saves the report in your Downloads folder and opens it. It needs Excel or any spreadsheet app (LibreOffice and Google Sheets open it too). On the phone, export from the app on your PC.

In Stats choose the range, then press PDF. The report opens in your browser with every section open - in the print window choose Save as PDF. On a phone, choose Save to Files or Share from the print window.

On the PC open SETUP CHECK and press SEND LOG TO SUPPORT. The log folder and this help page open. Log in to My Account, open Support, press Ask a new question, attach app.log with Add screenshots or log, describe what happened and send.

Look in spam or promotions - it can take a couple of minutes. The link is personal and works for 30 days. If it has expired, request it again on the free download page.

Unzip the download first. Then in MetaTrader open File > Open Data Folder and copy the right file into the right folder: LamsaGuard_Free.ex5 into MQL5 > Experts for MetaTrader 5, or LamsaGuard_Free.ex4 into MQL4 > Experts for MetaTrader 4. In the Navigator right-click Expert Advisors and choose Refresh.

Turn on Algo Trading (MetaTrader 4: AutoTrading) in the toolbar and tick Allow Algo Trading in the EA window. Attach it to ONE chart only: on a second chart of the same account it waits on STANDBY. The free version needs no login and no app - your limits go in the EA's Inputs tab.

Use one or the other on an account. The paid EA includes everything in the free one. When you move to a paid plan, remove the free EA from the chart, then attach LamsaGuard.
